It combines the best practices and principles in physical therapy, chiropractic and exercise rehabilitation. It provides patients with a personal scoliosis specific exercise program based on their specific curve type and postural characteristics.
The patient learns an Active Self Correction/ScoliCorrection specific to their curve type. The Active Self Correction/ScoliCorrection is a series of movements of the spine that harness spinal coupling to achieve a straightening of the spine. Once the specific Active Self Correction/ScoliCorrection is mastered, then specifically selected exercises (ScoliExercises) are introduced. The purpose of the exercises is to challenge the ability of the patient to hold the Active Self Correction/ScoliCorrection thereby improving their ability to achieve ScoliCorrection in various positions. In most cases, a ScoliRoll or Denneroll is prescribed to aid in improving flexibility of the curve and passive curve correction. There is also a series of in-brace exercises that are performed while the Scolibrace is creating an over corrective or super correction position.
